NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a mitochondrial acyl-CoA thioesterase of unknown function. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
Uniprot Description
ACOT9: Acyl-CoA thioesterases are a group of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of acyl-CoAs to the free fatty acid and coenzyme A (CoASH), providing the potential to regulate intracellular levels of acyl-CoAs, free fatty acids and CoASH. Active on long chain acyl-CoAs. Belongs to the acyl coenzyme A hydrolase family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Hydrolase; EC 3.1.2.-
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22.11
Cellular Component: mitochondrion
Molecular Function: acetyl-CoA hydrolase activity
Biological Process: acyl-CoA metabolic process

The Mouse Monoclonal [clone 4E4] (IgG1,k) to Human ACOT9 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ACOT9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA, IF (10 ug/ml), IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB Usage: Western Blot (Cell lysate) - positive control MCF-7. Western Blot (Transfected lysate) - positive control transfected 293T cell line. Immunofluorescence (10 ug/ml) - positive control HeLa cells. Sandwich ELISA (Recombinant protein). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACOT9 acot9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ACOT9, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
