Uniprot Description

NR5A2: Binds to the sequence element 5'-AACGACCGACCTTGAG-3' of the enhancer II of hepatitis B virus genes, a critical cis-element of their expression and regulation. May be responsible for the liver-specific activity of enhancer II, probably in combination with other hepatocyte transcription factors. Key regulator of cholesterol 7-alpha-hydroxylase gene (CYP7A) expression in liver. May also contribute to the regulation of pancreas-specific genes and play important roles in embryonic development. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR5 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor; Nuclear receptor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q32.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, enhancer binding; protein binding; ligand-dependent nuclear receptor activity; DNA binding; zinc ion binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; steroid hormone receptor activity; phospholipid binding; transcription factor activity

Product Notes

The NR5A2 nr5a2 (Catalog #AAA602268) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The a-Fetoprotein Receptor (AFPr) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's a-Fetoprotein Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot and as an AFP/AFP-R blocker. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NR5A2 nr5a2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "a-Fetoprotein Receptor, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
