Multicilin (MCI) Recombinant Protein | MCI recombinant protein
Recombinant Human Multicilin (MCI)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the geminin family of proteins. The encoded nuclear protein is required for the generation of multiciliated cells in respiratory epithelium. Mutations in this gene cause a rare mucociliary clearance disorder associated with recurring respiratory infections in human patients, known as reduced generation of multiple motile cilia (RGMC). [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Uniprot Description
Transcription regulator specifically required for multiciliate cell differentiation. Acts in a multiprotein complex containing E2F4 and E2F5 that binds and activates genes required for centriole biogenesis. Required for the deuterosome-mediated acentriolar pathway (PubMed:25048963). Plays a role in mitotic cell cycle progression by promoting cell cycle exit. Modulates GMNN activity by reducing its affinity for CDT1 (PubMed:21543332, PubMed:24064211).

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Multicilin (MCI), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
