Related Product Information for MAT2B recombinant protein
Methionine adenosyltransferase II, beta (MAT II beta) belongs to the methionine adenosyltransferase (MAT) family. MAT II beta catalyzes the biosynthesis of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP. This protein is the regulatory beta subunit of MAT. Its expression in hepatoma cell lines may lead to increase DNA synthesis and thereby participate to cell proliferation. Recombinant human MAT II beta was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the methionine adenosyltransferase (MAT) family. MAT catalyzes the biosynthesis of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP. This protein is the regulatory beta subunit of MAT. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]

Uniprot Description

Regulatory subunit of S-adenosylmethionine synthetase 2, an enzyme that catalyzes the formation of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP. Regulates MAT2A catalytic activity by changing its kinetic properties, increasing its affinity for L-methionine (PubMed:10644686, PubMed:23189196, PubMed:25075345). Can bind NADP (in vitro) (PubMed:23189196, PubMed:23425511).

Product Notes

The MAT2B mat2b (Catalog #AAA203713) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MAT II beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAT2B mat2b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MPEMPEDMEQ EEVNIPNRRV LVTGATGLLG RAVHKEFQQN NWHAVGCGFR RARPKFEQVN LLDSNAVHHI IHDFQPHVIV HCAAERRPDV VENQPDAASQ LNVDASGNLA KEAAAVGAFL IYISSDYVFD GTNPPYREED IPAPLNLYGK TKLDGEKAVL ENNLGAAVLR IPILYGEVEK LEESAVTVMF DKVQFSNKSA NMDHWQQRFP THVKDVATVC RQLAEKRMLD PSIKGTFHWS GNEQMTKYEM ACAIADAFNL PSSHLRPITD SPVLGAQRPR NTQLDCSKLE TLGIGQRTPF RIGIKESLWP FLIDKRWRQT VFH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAT II beta, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
