NCBI Description

The L-threonine aldolase encoded by the ltaA gene is of the low-specificity type; it can act on both L-threonine and L-allo-threonine as well as L-threo-phenylserine and L-erythro-phenylserine, but does not utilize the D isomers. [More information is available at EcoCyc: G6455].

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the cleavage of L-allo-threonine and L-threonine to glycine and acetaldehyde. L-threo-phenylserine and L-erythro-phenylserine are also good substrates.

Product Notes

The ltaE ltae (Catalog #AAA1135731) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-333, full length protein. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MIDLRSDTVT RPSRAMLEAM MAAPVGDDVY GDDPTVNALQ DYAAELSGKE AAIFLPTGTQ ANLVALLSHC ERGEEYIVGQ AAHNYLFEAG GAAVLGSIQP QPIDAAADGT LPLDKVAMKI KPDDIHFART KLLSLENTHN GKVLPREYLK EAWEFTRERN LALHVDGARI FNAVVAYGCE LKEITQYCDS FTICLSKGLG TPVGSLLVGN RDYIKRAIRW RKMTGGGMRQ SGILAAAGIY ALKNNVARLQ EDHDNAAWMA EQLREAGADV MRQDTNMLFV RVGEENAAAL GEYMKARNVL INASPIVRLV THLDVSREQL AEVAAHWRAF LAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Low specificity L-threonine aldolase (ltaE), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
