LSM4 should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Description: LSM4 Human Recombinant fused with a 20 amino acid His tag at N-terminus produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 159 amino acids (1-139 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 17.5kDa. The LSM4 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: LSM4 (U6 snRNA-associated Sm-like protein) forms donut-shaped heptameric complexes which are involved in various steps of RNA metabolism. LSM4 facilitates RNA protein interactions and structural changes which are essential during ribosomal subunit assembly. LSM4 binds specifically to the 3'-terminal U-tract of U6 snRNA.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the LSm family of RNA-binding proteins. LSm proteins form stable heteromers that bind specifically to the 3'-terminal oligo(U) tract of U6 snRNA and may play a role in pre-mRNA splicing by mediating U4/U6 snRNP formation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]
