Related Product Information for Lin7A recombinant protein
Lin7A, also as known as MALS1 or VELI1, belongs to the lin-7 family. This protein contains 1 L27 domain and 1 PDZ (DHR) domain. It plays a role in establishing and maintaining the asymmetric distribution of channels and receptors at the plasma membrane of polarized cells. The tripartite complex composed of LIN7 (LIN7A, LIN7B or LIN7C), CASK and APBA1 may have the potential to couple synaptic vesicle exocytosis to cell adhesion in brain. Lin7A is expressed in brain, testis, kidney, placenta and liver. Recombinant human Lin7A protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in generating and maintaining the asymmetric distribution of channels and receptors at the cell membrane. The encoded protein also is required for the localization of some specific channels and can be part of a protein complex that couples synaptic vesicle exocytosis to cell adhesion in the brain. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]

Uniprot Description

Plays a role in establishing and maintaining the asymmetric distribution of channels and receptors at the plasma membrane of polarized cells. Forms membrane-associated multiprotein complexes that may regulate delivery and recycling of proteins to the correct membrane domains. The tripartite complex composed of LIN7 (LIN7A, LIN7B or LIN7C), CASK and APBA1 may have the potential to couple synaptic vesicle exocytosis to cell adhesion in brain. Ensures the proper localization of GRIN2B (subunit 2B of the NMDA receptor) to neuronal postsynaptic density and may function in localizing synaptic vesicles at synapses where it is recruited by beta-catenin and cadherin. Required to localize Kir2 channels, GABA transporter (SLC6A12) and EGFR/ERBB1, ERBB2, ERBB3 and ERBB4 to the basolateral membrane of epithelial cells.

Product Notes

The Lin7A lin7a (Catalog #AAA204234) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's Lin7A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Lin7A lin7a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMLKPSVT SAPTADMATL TVVQPLTLDR DVARAIELLE KLQESGEVPV HKLQSLKKVL QSEFCTAIRE VYQYMHETIT VNGCPEFRAR ATAKATVAAF AASEGHSHPR VVELPKTDEG LGFNVMGGKE QNSPIYISRI IPGGVAERHG GLKRGDQLLS VNGVSVEGEH HEKAVELLKA AKDSVKLVVR YTPKVLEEME ARFEKLRTAR RRQQQQLLIQ QQQQQQQQQT QQNHMS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lin7A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
