Usage Notes
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Mouse LIF protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized Mouse LIF protein product should be stored desiccated below -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Background: Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a 20 kD protein that belongs to the IL-6 receptor family, is a pleiotropic factor produced by multiple cell types, including T cells, myelomonocytic lineages, fibroblasts, liver, heart and melanoma. LIF has the capacity to induce terminal differentiation in leukemic cells. Its activities include the induction of hematopoietic differentiation in normal and myeloid leukemia cells, the induction of neuronal cell differentiation, and the stimulation of acute-phase protein synthesis in hepatocytes.

Product Notes

The LIF lif (Catalog #AAA9719051) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 186aa. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Ser23-Phe2 02. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LIF, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
