Related Product Information for Dolichos biflorus Agglutinin lectin
Dolichos biflorus agglutinin is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of about 120,000 and consists of 4 subunits of approximately equal size. This lectin has an isoelectric point of about pH 5.5 and a carbohydrate specificity toward a-linked N-acetylgalactosamine. DBA is approximately 5000 times more active in agglutinating blood group A1 cells versus A2 cells, and is used to distinguish these blood types in routine serology. It has also been used to establish secretor status in A1 individuals by hemagglutination inhibition techniques and has potential applications in examining tumors which affect the levels of blood group substances. Fluorescein labeled Dolichos Biflorus Agglutinin is produced by using the highest quality fluorescein isothiocyanate, our affinity-purified lectin, and special conjugation procedures. Fluorescein labeled Dolichos Biflorus Agglutinin has an appropriate number of fluorochromes bound which provide the maximum fluorescence and optimum staining characteristics for this particular lectin. This lectin is supplied essentially free of unconjugated fluorochromes and inactive lectin. Accompanying each fluorescent lectin is an analysis data sheet summarizing the results of our quality control tests and providing pertinent information on the product. All of these reagents are supplied as solutions perserved with sodium azide.

Product Notes

The Dolichos biflorus Agglutinin (Catalog #AAA656861) is a Lectin and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Dolichos biflorus Agglutinin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Dolichos biflorus Agglutinin for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dolichos biflorus Agglutinin, Lectin" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
