Rabbit
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of LBP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between LBP and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between LBP and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.

Intended Uses: This LBP ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rabbit LBP. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: LBP ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-LBP antibody and an LBP-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with LBP-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the LBP concentration since LBP from samples and LBP-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-LBP antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by LBP from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind LBP-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The LBP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the acute-phase immunologic response to gram-negative bacterial infections. Gram-negative bacteria contain a glycolipid, lipopolysaccharide (LPS), on their outer cell wall. Together with bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (BPI), the encoded protein binds LPS and interacts with the CD14 receptor, probably playing a role in regulating LPS-dependent monocyte responses. Studies in mice suggest that the encoded protein is necessary for the rapid acute-phase response to LPS but not for the clearance of LPS from circulation. This protein is part of a family of structurally and functionally related proteins, including BPI, plasma cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP), and phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP). Uniprot Description

LBP: Binds to the lipid A moiety of bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS), a glycolipid present in the outer membrane of all Gram-negative bacteria. The LBP/LPS complex seems to interact with the CD14 receptor. Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family.

Product Notes

The Rabbit LBP lbp (Catalog #AAA728345) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA728345 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit LBP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lipolysaccharide binding protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
