Reactivity
Human
Synonyms
L1-Cell Adhesion Molecule; Human L1-Cell Adhesion Molecule ELISA Kit; L1CAM elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human L1CAM and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
1.56 ng/ml - 50 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated L1CAM concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human L1CAM antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add L1CAM and L1CAM antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of L1CAM in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an axonal glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin supergene family. The ectodomain, consisting of several immunoglobulin-like domains and fibronectin-like repeats (type III), is linked via a single transmembrane sequence to a conserved cytoplasmic domain. This cell adhesion molecule plays an important role in nervous system development, including neuronal migration and differentiation. Mutations in the gene cause X-linked neurological syndromes known as CRASH (corpus callosum hypoplasia, retardation, aphasia, spastic paraplegia and hydrocephalus). Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants, some of which include an alternate exon that is considered to be specific to neurons. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

NCAM-L1: cell adhesion molecule with an important role in the development of the nervous system. Involved in neuron-neuron adhesion, neurite fasciculation, outgrowth of neurites, etc. Binds to axonin on neurons. Two splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Human L1CAM l1cam (Catalog #AAA022206) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA022206 ELISA Kit recognizes Human L1CAM. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "L1-Cell Adhesion Molecule, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
