Human Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase ELISA Kit | KMO elisa kit
Human Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a mitochondrion outer membrane protein that catalyzes the hydroxylation of L-tryptophan metabolite, L-kynurenine, to form L-3-hydroxykynurenine. Studies in yeast identified this gene as a therapeutic target for Huntington disease. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Uniprot Description
KMO: Catalyzes the hydroxylation of L-kynurenine (L-Kyn) to form 3-hydroxy-L-kynurenine (L-3OHKyn). Required for synthesis of quinolinic acid, a neurotoxic NMDA receptor antagonist and potential endogenous inhibitor of NMDA receptor signaling in axonal targeting, synaptogenesis and apoptosis during brain development. Quinolinic acid may also affect NMDA receptor signaling in pancreatic beta cells, osteoblasts, myocardial cells, and the gastrointestinal tract. Belongs to the aromatic-ring hydroxylase family. KMO subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human KMO kmo (Catalog #AAA2880829) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2880829 ELISA Kit recognizes Human KMO. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
