Uniprot Description
Probably participates in establishing action potential waveform and excitability of neuronal and muscle tissues. Inward rectifier potassium channels are characterized by a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out of it. Their voltage dependence is regulated by the concentration of extracellular potassium; as external potassium is raised, the voltage range of the channel opening shifts to more positive voltages. The inward rectification is mainly due to the blockage of outward current by internal magnesium. Can be blocked by extracellular barium or cesium.
Product Notes
The KCNJ2 kcnj2 (Catalog #
AAA7017694) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Cell Free Expression and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-427aa; Full length protein. This is a recombinant transmembrane protein expressed in a cell-free expression system. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCNJ2 kcnj2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSVRTNRYS IVSSEEDGMK LATMAVANGF GNGKSKVHTR QQCRSRFVKK DGHCNVQFIN VGEKGQRYLA DIFTTCVDIR WRWMLVIFCL AFVLSWLFFG CVFWLIALLH GDLDASKEGK ACVSEVNSFT AAFLFSIETQ TTIGYGFRCV TDECPIAVFM VVFQSIVGCI IDAFIIGAVM AKMAKPKKRN ETLVFSHNAV IAMRDGKLCL MWRVGNLRKS HLVEAHVRAQ LLKSRITSEG EYIPLDQIDI NVGFDSGIDR IFLVSPITIV HEIDEDSPLY DLSKQDIDNA DFEIVVILEG MVEATAMTTQ CRSSYLANEI LWGHRYEPVL FEEKHYYKVD YSRFHKTYEV PNTPLCSARD LAEKKYILSN ANSFCYENEV ALTSKEEDDS ENGVPESTST DTPPDIDLHN QASVPLEPRP LRRESEI.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Inward rectifier potassium channel 2 (KCNJ2), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
