Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KCNH6 in samples. An antibody specific for KCNH6 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyKCNH6 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KCNH6 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KCNH6 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, subfamily H. This member is a pore-forming (alpha) subunit. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Uniprot Description

Kv11.2: Pore-forming (alpha) subunit of voltage-gated potassium channel. Elicits a slowly activating, rectifying current. Channel properties may be modulated by cAMP and subunit assembly. Belongs to the potassium channel family. H (Eag) (TC 1.A.1.20) subfamily. Kv11.2/KCNH6 sub-subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human KCNH6 kcnh6 (Catalog #AAA282352) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA282352 ELISA Kit recognizes Human KCNH6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 6, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
