Related Product Information for ITLN1 recombinant protein
Intelectin-1 (ITLN1) is a secreted protein and contains 1 fibrinogen C-terminal domain. Intelectin-1 is a 40kDa Ca- dependent galactofuranose-binding lectin that is not a C-type lectin. It is expressed on multiple cell types and appears to participate in insulin signaling and microbe recognition. The protein has no effect on basal glucose uptake but enhances insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in adipocytes. It increases AKT phosphorylation in the absence and presence of insulin and it may play a role in the defense systemagainst microorganisms. It also may specifically recognize carbohydrate chains of pathogens and bacterial components containing galactofuranosy l residues, in a calcium-dependent manner.

Uniprot Description

ITLN1: Has no effect on basal glucose uptake but enhances insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in adipocytes. Increases AKT phosphorylation in the absence and presence of insulin. May play a role in the defense system against microorganisms. May specifically recognize carbohydrate chains of pathogens and bacterial components containing galactofuranosyl residues, in a calcium-dependent manner. May be involved in iron metabolism.

Product Notes

The ITLN1 itln1 (Catalog #AAA2569245) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Cys31-Gly2 53. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Intelectin-1/ITLN1 Protein, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
