NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the kelch family of proteins, which is characterized by a 50 amino acid repeat which interacts with actin. Transcript variants have been described but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IPP: May play a role in organizing the actin cytoskeleton. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p34-p32

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; actin cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: actin binding

Product Notes

The IPP ipp (Catalog #AAA638155) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IPP-POZ Domain, aa1-157, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
