Related Product Information for MYO3beta active protein
MYO3beta is a member of the Class III myosins that are actin-dependent motor proteins containing an amino-terminal kinase domain. MYO3beta contains a N-terminal kinase domain, followed by motor, neck, and tail domains. The MYO3beta gene generates a variety of splice variants that contain 1 or 2 calmodulin-binding (IQ) motifs in the neck domain and 1 of 3 domains in the tail domain. Northern blot analysis shows expression of a 7-kb MYO3beta transcript in the human retina but not in a RPE cell line. The MYO3beta gene transcript is also detected in the kidney, intestine and testis. The MYO3beta gene maps to chromosome 2q31.1-q31.2 by genomic sequence alignment.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of the class III myosins. Myosins are ATPases, activated by actin, that move along actin filaments in the cell. This class of myosins are characterized by an amino-terminal kinase domain and shown to be present in photoreceptors. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

Product Notes

The MYO3beta myo3b (Catalog #AAA4160243) is an Active Protein produced from Insect Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MYO3 beta, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
