SB202190 enhanced the growth of THP-1 and MV4-11 cells. In the presence of SB202190, the ED50 values for the farnesyltransferase inhibitor FPT inhibitor II and MEK inhibitor U0126 were significantly decreased.SB202190 increased the phosphorylation of C-Raf and extracellular regulated kinase (ERK). [1] SB202190 suppressed the kinase activity of p38, leading to inhibition of activation of MAPKAPK2 and then the subsequent phosphorylation of hsp27 in LPS-treated macrophages both in vitro and in vivo. [2] SB202190 blocked p38 half maximally at 30 nM. Concentrations as high as 30, 000 nM did not inhibit ERK and JNK activity. [3]
