Related Product Information for INHBC recombinant protein
Recombinant Inhibin beta A chain comprises a 116 amino acid fragment (311-426) corresponding to the mature Inhibin beta A chain protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag.

Inhibins are dimeric peptide hormones produced by female ovarian granulose cells and male Sertoli cells as well as a variety of other tissues. Inhibins have two isoforms, A and B, with the same alpha subunit but different beta subunits. Inhibin A is a dimer of alpha and beta A subunits, inhibin B is a dimer of alpha and beta B subunits. Inhibins are thought to inhibit the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) by the pituitary gland. In addition, inhibins are also thought to play a role in the control of gametogenesis, and embryonic and foetal development.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the beta C chain of inhibin, a member of the TGF-beta superfamily. This subunit forms heterodimers with beta A and beta B subunits. Inhibins and activins, also members of the TGF-beta superfamily, are hormones with opposing actions and are involved in hypothalamic, pituitary, and gonadal hormone secretion, as well as growth and differentiation of various cell types. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

INHBC: Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

Product Notes

The INHBC inhbc (Catalog #AAA636653) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human, Recombinant, E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Inhibin, beta A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Gel Shift Assay (GS/EMSA). Suitable for use in ELISA, Dot Blot, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.,, Recommended Dilution:, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the INHBC inhbc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Inhibin, beta A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
