Related Product Information for IL1F9 elisa kit
IL1F9 encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. The activity of this cytokine is mediated by interleukin 1 receptor-like 2, and is specifically inhibited by interleukin 1 family, member 5 . Interferon-gamma, tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin 1, beta (IL1B) are reported to stimulate the expression of this cytokine in keratinocytes. The expression of this cytokine in keratinocytes can also be induced by a contact hypersensitivity reaction or herpes simplex virus infection. This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2.Highly expressed in tissues containing epithelial cells: skin, lung, stomach and esophagus. In skin is expressed only in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts, endothelial cells or melanocytes. Up-regulated in lesional psoriasis skin.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL1F9 in samples. An antibody specific for IL1F9 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIL1F9 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL1F9 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL1F9 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. The activity of this cytokine is mediated by interleukin 1 receptor-like 2 (IL1RL2/IL1R-rp2), and is specifically inhibited by interleukin 1 family, member 5 (IL1F5/IL-1 delta). This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]

Uniprot Description

Il1f9: Function as an agonist of NF-kappa B activation through the orphan IL-1-receptor-related protein 2. Could constitute part of an independent signaling system analogous to interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1A), beta (IL-1B) receptor agonist and interleukin-1 receptor type I (IL-1R1), that is present in epithelial barriers and takes part in local inflammatory response. Belongs to the IL-1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q14.1

Cellular Component: extracellular region; extracellular space

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; interleukin-1 receptor binding

Biological Process: cell-cell signaling; cytokine-mediated signaling pathway; inflammatory response; innate immune response

Product Notes

The Human IL1F9 il36g (Catalog #AAA285236) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA285236 ELISA Kit recognizes Human IL1F9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin-36 gamma, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
