• Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated IL-33 concentrations in Rat serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Rat IL-33 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add IL-33 and IL-33 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of IL-33 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

IL33 (MIM 608678) is a member of the IL1 (see MIM 147760) family that potently drives production of T helper-2 (Th2)-associated cytokines (e.g., IL4; MIM 147780). IL33 is a ligand for IL33R (IL1RL1; MIM 601203), an IL1 family receptor that is selectively expressed on Th2 cells and mast cells (summary by Yagami et al., 2010 [PubMed 20926795]).[supplied by OMIM, Jan 2011]
