Related Product Information for IGF2R recombinant protein
This protein is a receptor for both, insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) and mannose 6-phosphate (M6P). The IGF2 and M6P binding sites are located on different segments of the receptor. This receptor functions in the intracellular trafficking of lysosomal enzymes, the activation of transforming growth factor beta, and the degradation of IGF2. In mice, the homologous gene is expressed only from the maternal chromosome.

Uniprot Description

Acts as a positive regulator of T-cell coactivation, by binding DPP4 (). Transport of phosphorylated lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi complex and the cell surface to lysosomes. Lysosomal enzymes bearing phosphomannosyl residues bind specifically to mannose-6-phosphate receptors in the Golgi apparatus and the resulting receptor-ligand complex is transported to an acidic prelyosomal compartment where the low pH mediates the dissociation of the complex. This receptor also binds IGF2.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (IGF2R), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
