Reactivity
Human
Isotype
Mouse IgG1, kappa
Clone Number
107
Specificity
This antibody binds to the MIDAS face of the A domain from integrin CD11b.
Purity/Purification
Protein A Affinity Purified
Sequence Length
1152
Applicable Applications for ITGAM recombinant antibody
ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
Application Notes
The antibody binds specifically to integrin alpha-M, a protein subunit of the alpha-M- beta-2 molecule, which is expressed on the surface of leukocytes. Integrin alpha-M is involved in the adhesive interaction between molecules of the innate immune system, and plays a role in the uptake of complement-coated particles. The monoclonal antibody 107 has a blocking activity by binding to the metal-ion-dependent-adhesion site, favouring a low affinity conformation of the antigen.
Buffer Composition
PBS only with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Immunogen
Wild type (WT) recombinant CD11b.
Chimeric Use Statement
This chimeric mouse antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for up to 3 months. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20 degree C.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the integrin alpha M chain. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This I-domain containing alpha integrin combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as macrophage receptor 1 ('Mac-1'), or inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 3 ('CR3'). The alpha M beta 2 integrin is important in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium, and also in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]

Uniprot Description

Integrin alpha-M/beta-2 is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles. It is identical with CR-3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component. It probably recognizes the R-G-D peptide in C3b. Integrin alpha-M/beta-2 is also a receptor for fibrinogen, factor X and ICAM1. It recognizes P1 and P2 peptides of fibrinogen gamma chain.

Product Notes

The ITGAM itgam (Catalog #AAA488201) is a Recombinant Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Integrin alpha-M [107] reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Integrin alpha-M can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGAM itgam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Integrin alpha-M, Recombinant Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
