NCBI Description

Troponin I (TnI), along with troponin T (TnT) and troponin C (TnC), is one of 3 subunits that form the troponin complex of the thin filaments of striated muscle. TnI is the inhibitory subunit; blocking actin-myosin interactions and thereby mediating striated muscle relaxation. The TnI subfamily contains three genes: TnI-skeletal-fast-twitch, TnI-skeletal-slow-twitch, and TnI-cardiac. This gene encodes the TnI-cardiac protein and is exclusively expressed in cardiac muscle tissues. Mutations in this gene cause familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TNNI3: Troponin I is the inhibitory subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity. Binds to actin and tropomyosin. Interacts with TRIM63. Interacts with STK4/MST1. Belongs to the troponin I family.

Product Notes

The TNNI3 tnni3 (Catalog #AAA686334) is a Native Protein produced from Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Cardiac Troponin, I Subunit can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TNNI3 tnni3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cardiac Troponin, I Subunit, Native Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
