NCBI Description

This gene product belongs to the 14-3-3 family of proteins which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. This highly conserved protein family is found in both plants and mammals, and this protein is 99% identical to the mouse, rat and sheep orthologs. The encoded protein interacts with IRS1 protein, suggesting a role in regulating insulin sensitivity. Several transcript variants that differ in the 5' UTR but that encode the same protein have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

14-3-3 zeta: a protein of the 14-3-3 family of proteins which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. A multifunctional regulator of the cell signaling processes. Phosphorylation apparently disrupts homodimerization.

Product Notes

The Human, Mouse, Rat 14-3-3 beta/zeta ywhaz (Catalog #AAA9501595) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9501595 ELISA Kit recognizes Human, Mouse, Rat 14-3-3 beta/zeta. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "14-3-3 beta/zeta, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
