Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human TCF7 antibody. TCF7 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human TCF7 Antibody is added and binds to TCF7 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TCF7 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TCF7. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

This gene encodes a transcription factor which is a member of the T-cell specific transcription factor family. The encoded protein is distinct from the hepatic transcription factor, transcription factor 1, which is also referred to by the symbol Tcf1. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Transcriptional activator involved in T-cell lymphocyte differentiation. Necessary for the survival of CD4+ CD8+ immature thymocytes. Isoforms lacking the N-terminal CTNNB1 binding domain cannot fulfill this role. Binds to the T-lymphocyte-specific enhancer element (5'-WWCAAAG-3') found in the promoter of the CD3E gene. May also act as feedback transcriptional repressor of CTNNB1 and TCF7L2 target genes. TLE1, TLE2, TLE3 and TLE4 repress transactivation mediated by TCF7 and CTNNB1 ().
