Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Human Tomoregulin-2 (also known as TMEFF2) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, Ascites, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human TMEFF2 antibody. TMEFF2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human TMEFF2 Antibody is added and binds to TMEFF2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TMEFF2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TMEFF2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the tomoregulin family of transmembrane proteins. This protein has been shown to function as both an oncogene and a tumor suppressor depending on the cellular context and may regulate prostate cancer cell invasion. Multiple soluble forms of this protein have been identified that arise from both an alternative splice variant and ectodomain shedding. Additionally, this gene has been found to be hypermethylated in multiple cancer types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2015]
