Human Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (SYK) ELISA Kit | SYK elisa kit
Human Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (SYK) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: SYKis a member of the Syk family of tyrosine kinases. While Syk and Zap-70 are primarily expressed in hematopoietic tissues, there is expression of Syk in a variety of tissues. Within B and T cells respectively, Syk and Zap-70 transmit signals from the B-Cell receptor and T-Cell receptor. Syk plays a similar role in transmitting signals from a variety of cell surface receptors including CD74, Fc Receptor, and integrins. The role of Syk in epithelial malignancies is controversial. Several authors have suggested that abnormal Syk function facilitates transformation in Nasopharyngeal carcinoma and head and neck cancer while other authors have suggested a tumor suppressor role in breast and gastric cancer.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the family of non-receptor type Tyr protein kinases. This protein is widely expressed in hematopoietic cells and is involved in coupling activated immunoreceptors to downstream signaling events that mediate diverse cellular responses, including proliferation, differentiation, and phagocytosis. It is thought to be a modulator of epithelial cell growth and a potential tumour suppressor in human breast carcinomas. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
Uniprot Description
Syk: a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase of the SYK family containing two SH2 domains. Plays a central role in the B cell receptor (BCR) response. An upstream activator of the PI3K, PLCgamma2, and Rac/cdc42 pathways in the BCR response. Required for the sequential events of Fc gamma IIa receptor-mediated phagocytosis. Expression highest in murine spleen, heart, mammary gland and thymus. Two splice variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The Human SYK syk (Catalog #AAA9714076) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9714076 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SYK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (SYK), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
