Intended Use: The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm using a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration ofSPA-1;SIPA-1in the sample, This SPA-1;SIPA-1ELISA Kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of Optical Density versusSPA-1;SIPA-1concentration. The concentration ofSPA-1;SIPA-1in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene is a mitogen induced GTPase activating protein (GAP). It exhibits a specific GAP activity for Ras-related regulatory proteins Rap1 and Rap2, but not for Ran or other small GTPases. This protein may also hamper mitogen-induced cell cycle progression when abnormally or prematurely expressed. It is localized to the perinuclear region. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding the same isoform have been characterized to date. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SIPA1: GTPase activator for the nuclear Ras-related regulatory proteins Rap1 and Rap2 in vitro, converting it to the putatively inactive GDP-bound state.

Protein type: GAPs, Ras; GAPs

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; transport vesicle; protein complex; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; nucleolus; plasma membrane; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein C-terminus binding; protein binding; GTPase activator activity

Biological Process: cell proliferation; cellular response to water deprivation; cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; negative regulation of cell adhesion; negative regulation of cell growth; signal transduction; negative regulation of cell cycle; positive regulation of GTPase activity

Product Notes

The Human SPA-1/SIPA-1 sipa1 (Catalog #AAA3801501) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA3801501 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SPA-1/SIPA-1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Signal-Induced Proliferation-Associated Protein-1 (SPA-1/SIPA-1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
