Human Short Transient Receptor Potential Channel 6 (TRPC6) ELISA Kit | TRPC6 elisa kit
Human Short Transient Receptor Potential Channel 6 (TRPC6) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: TRPC6 is a transient receptor potential ion channel. It has been associated with depression and anxiety (see below), as well as with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Two of the primary active constituents responsible for the antidepressant and anxiolytic benefits of Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort) are hyperforin and adhyperforin. These compounds are inhibitors of the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine (noradrenaline) and epinephrine (adrenaline), dopamine, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), and glutamate, and they exert these effects by binding to and activating TRPC6. Activation of TRPC6 induces the entry of calcium (Ca2+) and sodium (Na+) into the cell, which results in the reuptake inhibition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene forms a receptor-activated calcium channel in the cell membrane. The channel is activated by diacylglycerol and is thought to be under the control of a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system. Activation of this channel occurs independently of protein kinase C and is not triggered by low levels of intracellular calcium. Defects in this gene are a cause of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 2 (FSGS2). [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
Uniprot Description
TRPC6: Thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Probably is operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. Activated by diacylglycerol (DAG) in a membrane-delimited fashion, independently of protein kinase C. Seems not to be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. Interacts with MX1 and RNF24. Expressed primarily in placenta, lung, spleen, ovary and small intestine. Expressed in podocytes and is a component of the glomerular slit diaphragm. Belongs to the transient receptor (TC 1.A.4) family. STrpC subfamily. TRPC6 sub-subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human TRPC6 trpc6 (Catalog #AAA9713800) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9713800 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TRPC6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Short Transient Receptor Potential Channel 6 (TRPC6), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
