Principle of the Assay: RDX ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-RDX antibody and an RDX-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with RDX-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the RDX concentration since RDX from samples and RDX-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-RDX antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by RDX from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind RDX-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The RDX concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Radixin is a cytoskeletal protein that may be important in linking actin to the plasma membrane. It is highly similar in sequence to both ezrin and moesin. The radixin gene has been localized by fluorescence in situ hybridization to 11q23. A truncated version representing a pseudogene (RDXP2) was assigned to Xp21.3. Another pseudogene that seemed to lack introns (RDXP1) was mapped to 11p by Southern and PCR analyses. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]
Uniprot Description
Radixin: a cytoskeletal protein of the ERM family which includes ezrin and moiesin. ERM proteins appear to function as cross-linkers between plasma membranes and actin-based cytoskeletons. May play a crucial role in the binding of the barbed end of actin filaments to the plasma membrane.

Product Notes
The Human RDX rdx (Catalog #AAA7219550) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7219550 ELISA Kit recognizes Human RDX. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Radixin (RDX), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
