Human Pre-mRNA-splicing factor RBM22 (RBM22) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate RBM22 in Human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. An antibody specific for RBM22 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any RBM22 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for RBM22 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of RBM22 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Involved in both translocations of the nuclear SLU7 to the cytoplasm and the cytosolic calcium-binding protein PDCD6 to the nucleus upon cellular stress responses. Belongs to the SLT11 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
