Human Phospholipase A2, Group X ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the phospholipase A2 family of lipolytic enzymes that hydrolyzes glycerophospholipids to produce free fatty acids and lysophospholipids. The encoded protein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a calcium-dependent enzyme that plays pivotal roles in the liberation of arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids leading to the production of various inflammatory lipid mediators, such as prostaglandins. In response to myocardial ischemia/reperfusion, mice lacking the encoded protein display a reduction in myocardial infarct size partly through the suppression of neutorphil cytotoxic activities. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. All of these isoforms may undergo similar processing to generate the mature protein. Uniprot Description
PLA2G10: PA2 catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2- acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides. Has a powerful potency for releasing arachidonic acid from cell membrane phospholipids. Prefers phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine liposomes to those of phosphatidylserine. Belongs to the phospholipase A2 family.

Product Notes
The Human Pla2g10 pla2g10 (Catalog #AAA3804783) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA3804783 ELISA Kit recognizes Human Pla2g10. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phospholipase A2, Group X, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
