Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human NRF2 antibody. NRF2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human NRF2 Antibody is added and binds to NRF2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NRF2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human NRF2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

This gene encodes a transcription factor which is a member of a small family of basic leucine zipper (bZIP) proteins. The encoded transcription factor regulates genes which contain antioxidant response elements (ARE) in their promoters; many of these genes encode proteins involved in response to injury and inflammation which includes the production of free radicals. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
