Related Product Information for NMB elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Neuromedin B (NMB). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Neuromedin B (NMB). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Neuromedin B (NMB), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Neuromedin B (NMB) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the bombesin-like family of neuropeptides, which negatively regulate eating behavior. The encoded protein may regulate colonic smooth muscle contraction through binding to its cognate receptor, the neuromedin B receptor (NMBR). Polymorphisms of this gene may be associated with hunger, weight gain and obesity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]
Uniprot Description
NMB: Stimulates smooth muscle contraction in a manner similar to that of bombesin. Belongs to the bombesin/neuromedin-B/ranatensin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q22-qter
Cellular Component: neuron projection; extracellular region
Molecular Function: hormone activity; neuromedin B receptor binding
Biological Process: elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; cell-cell signaling; neuropeptide signaling pathway; negative regulation of hormone secretion; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of hormone secretion; glucose homeostasis; signal transduction; arachidonic acid secretion
Product Notes
The Human NMB nmb (Catalog #
AAA2707496) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2707496 ELISA Kit recognizes Human NMB.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Neuromedin B (NMB), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
