Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for MOG elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

MOG: Mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion. Minor component of the myelin sheath. May be involved in completion and/or maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell- cell communication. Defects in MOG are the cause of narcolepsy type 7 (NRCLP7). Neurological disabling sleep disorder, characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep fragmentation, symptoms of abnormal rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep, cataplexy, hypnagogic hallucinations, and sleep paralysis. Cataplexy is a sudden loss of muscle tone triggered by emotions, which is the most valuable clinical feature used to diagnose narcolepsy. Human narcolepsy is primarily a sporadically occurring disorder but familial clustering has been observed. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. BTN/MOG family. 10 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.1

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Biological Process: central nervous system development; positive regulation of MyD88-dependent toll-like receptor signaling pathway; cell adhesion

Disease: Narcolepsy 7

Product Notes

The Human MOG mog (Catalog #AAA2022232) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2022232 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MOG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
