Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human MGP. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human MGP and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Human MGP and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Related Product Information for MGP elisa kit
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of MGP in human serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human MGP. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human MGP and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human MGP, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human MGP. You can calculate the concentration of Human MGP in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is secreted and likely acts as an inhibitor of bone formation. The encoded protein is found in the organic matrix of bone and cartilage. Defects in this gene are a cause of Keutel syndrome (KS). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]

Uniprot Description

MGP: Associates with the organic matrix of bone and cartilage. Thought to act as an inhibitor of bone formation. Defects in MGP are the cause of Keutel syndrome (KS). KS is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by abnormal cartilage calcification, peripheral pulmonary stenosis neural hearing loss and midfacial hypoplasia. Belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla protein family.

Product Notes

The Human MGP mgp (Catalog #AAA2504727) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2504727 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MGP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MGP, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
