Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for KLK11 elisa kit
Description: This Human Kallikrein 11 (KLK11) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KLK11 in samples. An antibody specific for KLK11 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any KLK11 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KLK11 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KLK11 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Kallikrein 11 is a member of the human kallikrein gene family. KLK11 is a secreted serine protease, highly expressed in hormonally regulated tissues, including the prostate and the ovary. KLK11 has two alternative splicing isoforms, known as the brain type and prostate type. Many members of the human kallikrein gene family are differentially expressed in cancer and a few have potential as markers. KLK11 may represent a prognostic biomarker for ovarian cancer. KLK11 expression in prostate, testis, trachea, pancreas, salivary gland, thyroid, parathyroid, lung, stomach, and adult and fetal skin. Weaker expression was detected in heart, mammary gland, uterus, colon, and small intestine, with little to no expression in other tissues examined.

NCBI Description

Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Alternate splicing and the use of alternate promoters results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms which are differentially expressed. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]

Uniprot Description

KLK11: Possible multifunctional protease. Efficiently cleaves 'bz-Phe-Arg-4-methylcoumaryl-7-amide', a kallikrein substrate, and weakly cleaves other substrates for kallikrein and trypsin. Cleaves synthetic peptides after arginine but not lysine residues. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Kallikrein subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Protease; Secreted; EC 3.4.21.-; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.33

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space

Molecular Function: serine-type peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity

Biological Process: proteolysis

Product Notes

The Human KLK11 klk11 (Catalog #AAA9715565) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715565 ELISA Kit recognizes Human KLK11. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kallikrein 11 (KLK11), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
