Related Product Information for GCC2 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human GRIP and Coiled-coil Domain-containing Protein 2 (also known as GCC2) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human GCC2 antibody. GCC2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human GCC2 Antibody is added and binds to GCC2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GCC2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human GCC2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a peripheral membrane protein localized to the trans-Golgi network. It is sensitive to brefeldin A. This encoded protein contains a GRIP domain which is thought to be used in targeting. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]

Uniprot Description

Golgin which probably tethers transport vesicles to the trans-Golgi network (TGN) and regulates vesicular transport between the endosomes and the Golgi. As a RAB9A effector it is involved in recycling of the mannose 6-phosphate receptor from the late endosomes to the TGN. May also play a role in transport between the recycling endosomes and the Golgi. Required for maintenance of the Golgi structure, it is involved in the biogenesis of noncentrosomal, Golgi-associated microtubules through recruitment of CLASP1 and CLASP2.

Product Notes

The Human GCC2 gcc2 (Catalog #AAA166995) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA166995 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GCC2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRIP and coiled-coil domain-containing protein 2 (GCC2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
