Intended Uses: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of FOLR1 in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to FOLR1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to FOLR1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain FOLR1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of FOLR1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

This gene encodes a member of the forkhead family of transcription factors. Similar genes in zebrafish and mouse have been shown to regulate the transcription of genes that control the production of motile cilia. The mouse ortholog also functions in the determination of left-right asymmetry. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and allergic rhinitis.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Activates the transcription of a variety of ciliary proteins in the developing brain and lung.
