Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for FABP3 elisa kit
Description: This Human Fatty acid-binding protein, heart (FABP3) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate FABP3 in samples. An antibody specific for FABP3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any FABP3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FABP3 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FABP3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Heart fatty acid binding protein (hFABP) is a novel small cytosolic protein that is abundant in the heart. It is highly cardiac-specific, but is also expressed at low concentrations in tissues outside the heart. After myocardial ischemic damage, hFABP can be detected in the blood as early as 1-3 h after onset of chest pain, with peak values reached at 6-8 h and plasma levels returning to normal within 24-30 h. The intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) belongs to a multigene family. They form 14-15 kDa proteins and are thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. Fatty acid-binding protein 3 gene contains four exons and its function is to arrest growth of mammary epithelial cells.

NCBI Description

The intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) belongs to a multigene family. FABPs are divided into at least three distinct types, namely the hepatic-, intestinal- and cardiac-type. They form 14-15 kDa proteins and are thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. They may also be responsible in the modulation of cell growth and proliferation. Fatty acid-binding protein 3 gene contains four exons and its function is to arrest growth of mammary epithelial cells. This gene is a candidate tumor suppressor gene for human breast cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]

Uniprot Description

FABP3: FABP are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.

Product Notes

The Human FABP3 fabp3 (Catalog #AAA9715490) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715490 ELISA Kit recognizes Human FABP3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fatty Acid-Binding Protein, Heart (FABP3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
