Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for EAAT3 elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 3 (EAAT3). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 3 (EAAT3). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 3 (EAAT3), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 3 (EAAT3) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the high-affinity glutamate transporters that play an essential role in transporting glutamate across plasma membranes. In brain, these transporters are crucial in terminating the postsynaptic action of the neurotransmitter glutamate, and in maintaining extracellular glutamate concentrations below neurotoxic levels. This transporter also transports aspartate, and mutations in this gene are thought to cause dicarboxylicamino aciduria, also known as glutamate-aspartate transport defect. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

SLC1A1: Transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate. Essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate by rapidly removing released glutamate from the synaptic cleft. Acts as a symport by cotransporting sodium. Negatively regulated by ARL6IP5. Belongs to the sodium:dicarboxylate (SDF) symporter (TC 2.A.23) family. SLC1A1 subfamily.

Protein type: Transporter, SLC family; Membrane protein, integral; Transporter; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9p24

Cellular Component: membrane; integral to plasma membrane; apical plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: glutamate binding; cysteine transmembrane transporter activity; glutamate:sodium symporter activity; sodium:dicarboxylate symporter activity; L-glutamate transmembrane transporter activity

Product Notes

The Human EAAT3 slc1a1 (Catalog #AAA2023644) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2023644 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EAAT3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Excitatory Amino Acid Transporter 3 (EAAT3), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
