Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for EPG elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Epigen (EPG). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Epigen (EPG). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Epigen (EPG), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Epigen (EPG) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the epidermal growth factor family. Members of this family are ligands for the epidermal growth factor receptor and play a role in cell survival, proliferation and migration. This protein has been reported to have high mitogenic activity but low affinity for its receptor. Expression of this transcript and protein have been reported in cancer specimens of the breast, bladder, and prostate. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Uniprot Description

Epigen: Promotes the growth of epithelial cells. May stimulate the phosphorylation of EGFR and mitogen-activated protein kinases. 7 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q13.3

Cellular Component: extracellular space; integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: growth factor activity; epidermal growth factor receptor binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of MAP kinase activity; positive regulation of mitosis; positive regulation of epidermal growth factor receptor activity; activation of MAPK activity; positive regulation of cell proliferation; MAPKKK cascade; angiogenesis; positive regulation of epithelial cell proliferation

Product Notes

The Human EPG epgn (Catalog #AAA2019223) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2019223 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EPG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Epigen (EPG), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
