Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for EFNA4 elisa kit
Description: This Human Ephrin-A4 (EFNA4) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate EFNA4 in samples. An antibody specific for EFNA4 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any EFNA4 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for EFNA4 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of EFNA4 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Ephrin-A4 is a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. The ephrins and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. This gene encodes an EFNA class ephrin. Three transcript variants that encode distinct proteins have been identified.

Uniprot Description

EFNA4: Cell surface GPI-bound ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. May play a role in the interaction between activated B-lymphocytes and dendritic cells in tonsils. Belongs to the ephrin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor; Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21-q22

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region

Molecular Function: protein binding; transmembrane-ephrin receptor activity; ephrin receptor binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; cell-cell signaling; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; osteoclast differentiation; bone remodeling

Product Notes

The Human EFNA4 efna4 (Catalog #AAA9715610) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715610 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EFNA4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ephrin-A4 (EFNA4), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
