Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for DARC elisa kit
Description: This Human Duffy antigen/chemokine receptor (DARC) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate DARC in samples. An antibody specific for DARC has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any DARC present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for DARC is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DARC bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Duffy blood group, chemokine receptor (DARC) acts as a non-classical chemokine receptor that does not signal but rather acts as a scavenger protein. It is also the receptor for the human malaria parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi. The Duffy system enjoys the distinction of being the first blood group whose genetic locus was assigned to a specific autosome, i.e., chromosome 1. On the basis of families studied in Rochester, N.Y., Weitkamp (1972) could demonstrate no linkage of the HBB locus and Duffy, as had been suggested by Nance et al. (1970). An earlier suspicion of localization to chromosome 16 was apparently in error. Duffy and the locus for a form of hereditary cataract are closely linked. From extensive family studies, Robson et al. (1973) arrived at a tentative map of chromosome 1.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a glycosylated membrane protein and a non-specific receptor for several chemokines. The encoded protein is the receptor for the human malarial parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi. Polymorphisms in this gene are the basis of the Duffy blood group system. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DARC: Non-specific receptor for many chemokines such as IL-8, GRO, RANTES, MCP-1 and TARC. It is also the receptor for the human malaria parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor Duffy family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human DARC darc (Catalog #AAA9715928) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715928 ELISA Kit recognizes Human DARC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Duffy Antigen/Chemokine Receptor (DARC), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
