Related Product Information for CASP6 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Caspase 6 (also known as CASP6) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human CASP6 antibody. CASP6 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human CASP6 Antibody is added and binds to CASP6 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CASP6 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human CASP6. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family of enzymes. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic acid residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This protein is processed by caspases 7, 8 and 10, and is thought to function as a downstream enzyme in the caspase activation cascade. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants that encode different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]

Uniprot Description

Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase in vitro, as well as lamins. Overexpression promotes programmed cell death.

Product Notes

The Human CASP6 casp6 (Catalog #AAA165180) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA165180 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CASP6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Caspase 6 (CASP6), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
