Related Product Information for CASP1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Carnosine Dipeptidase1 (also known as CNDP1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human CNDP1 antibody. CNDP1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human CNDP1 Antibody is added and binds to CNDP1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CNDP1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human CNDP1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein which is a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce 2 subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This gene was identified by its ability to proteolytically cleave and activate the inactive precursor of interleukin-1, a cytokine involved in the processes such as inflammation, septic shock, and wound healing. This gene has been shown to induce cell apoptosis and may function in various developmental stages. Studies of a similar gene in mouse suggest a role in the pathogenesis of Huntington disease. Alternative splicing results in transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

Uniprot Description

Thiol protease that cleaves IL-1 beta between an Asp and an Ala, releasing the mature cytokine which is involved in a variety of inflammatory processes. Important for defense against pathogens. Cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). Can also promote apoptosis. Upon inflammasome activation, during DNA virus infection but not RNA virus challenge, controls antiviral immunity through the cleavage of CGAS, rendering it inactive (PubMed:28314590).

Product Notes

The Human CASP1 casp1 (Catalog #AAA165279) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA165279 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CASP1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Caspase 1 (CASP1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
