Uniprot Description

CHST15: Sulfotransferase that transfers sulfate from 3'- phosphoadenosine 5'-phosphosulfate (PAPS) to the C-6 hydroxyl group of the GalNAc 4-sulfate residue of chondroitin sulfate A and forms chondroitin sulfate E containing GlcA-GalNAc(4,6-SO(4)) repeating units. It also transfers sulfate to a unique non- reducing terminal sequence, GalNAc(4SO4)-GlcA(2SO4)-GalNAc(6SO4), to yield a highly sulfated structure similar to the structure found in thrombomodulin chondroitin sulfate. May also act as a B- cell receptor involved in BCR ligation-mediated early activation that mediate regulatory signals key to B-cell development and/or regulation of B-cell-specific RAG expression; however such results are unclear in vivo. Belongs to the sulfotransferase 1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; EC 2.8.2.33; Transferase; Glycan Metabolism - chondroitin sulfate biosynthesis

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: transferase activity; N-acetylgalactosamine 4-sulfate 6-O-sulfotransferase activity; sulfotransferase activity; 3'-phosphoadenosine 5'-phosphosulfate binding

Biological Process: hexose biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The Human CHST15 chst15 (Catalog #AAA9300519) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9300519 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CHST15. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 15 (CHST15), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
