Human Beta-1,4-N-Acetyl Galactosaminyl Transferase 2 (b4GALNT2) ELISA Kit | b4GALNT2 elisa kit
Human Beta-1,4-N-Acetyl Galactosaminyl Transferase 2 (b4GALNT2) ELISA Kit
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Beta-1,4-N-Acetyl Galactosaminyl Transferase 2 (b4GALNT2) and analogues was observed.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
B4GALNT2 catalyzes the last step in the biosynthesis of the human Sd(a) antigen through the addition of an N-acetylgalactosamine residue via a beta-1,4 linkage to a subterminal galactose residue substituted with an alpha-2,3-linked sialic acid. B4GALNT2 also catalyzes the last step in the biosynthesis of the Cad antigen (Montiel et al., 2003 [PubMed 12678917]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Uniprot Description
B4GALNT2: Involved in the synthesis of the Sd(a) antigen (Sia- alpha2,3-[GalNAc-beta1,4]Gal-beta1,4-GlcNAc), a carbohydrate determinant expressed on erythrocytes, the colonic mucosa and other tissues. Transfers a beta-1,4-linked GalNAc to the galactose residue of an alpha-2,3-sialylated chain. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Transferase; EC 2.4.1.-
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q21.32
Cellular Component: integral to membrane; integral to Golgi membrane
Molecular Function: acetylgalactosaminyltransferase activity
Biological Process: UDP-N-acetylglucosamine metabolic process; lipid glycosylation; protein amino acid glycosylation; negative regulation of cell-cell adhesion; UDP-N-acetylgalactosamine metabolic process

Product Notes
The Human b4GALNT2 b4galnt2 (Catalog #AAA2023037) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2023037 ELISA Kit recognizes Human b4GALNT2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-1,4-N-Acetyl Galactosaminyl Transferase 2 (b4GALNT2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
