Related Product Information for RBP1 clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of RBP1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to RBP1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for RBP1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain RBP1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of RBP1. You can calculate the concentration of RBP1 in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the carrier protein involved in the transport of retinol (vitamin A alcohol) from the liver storage site to peripheral tissue. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin necessary for growth, reproduction, differentiation of epithelial tissues, and vision. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]

Uniprot Description

RBP1: Intracellular transport of retinol. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q23

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: retinoid binding; transporter activity; retinol binding; retinal binding

Biological Process: phototransduction, visible light; transport; retinoid metabolic process; vitamin A metabolic process

Product Notes

The Human RBP1 rbp1 (Catalog #AAA2531755) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2531755 CLIA Kit recognizes Human RBP1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RBP1 (Retinol Binding Protein 1, Cellular), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
